About Us
The Safety Skill Development Foundation (SSDF) is as a “Not for Profit” organization as section 8 of company act 2013 and recognised as an Awarding Body under National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET), Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Government of India. SSDF was set up with a vision to create industry-need based skill ecosystem for safety professionals for industries by developing internationally acceptable National Occupational Standards (NOS), Training Delivery Systems, Assessment & Certification process in line with National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF) of Government of India and in line with New Education Policy of Government of India, to meet skill demands of industries and keep the safety professional globally & technologically competent.
The skill gap – “the divide between job-seekers skills and the skills demanded by industry” has been very high in India. At one end we have a very large young population looking for employment opportunity and at the other end we have acute shortage of suitable skilled manpower at employer/industry end. SSDF is working towards bridging this gap by creating industry need based qualifications for new entrants as well as working professional which meets the national as well as international standards.
The Safety Skill Development Foundation working with mission as the leading organisation in skilling of Indian youth, making them industry ready and act as a bridge between industry skill needs & Indian youth by:-
- Effective understanding the industry’s skill requirements, conduct functional analysis and create national occupational standards as per national skill qualification framework with internationally compatible competency parameters.
- Developing robust training, assessment & certification modules for professionals based on national & international practices.
- Assisting in implementation of skill training projects within India, conduct competency-based assessments and provide industry acceptable competency certificates.
- Preparing the safety professional technologically competent through skilling, re-skilling & up-skilling and meet the present & future requirements.
- Reducing workplace related accidents, improving health & safety and improving the environmental compliances through its skilling efforts.
- Tie up with international organisation to provide equitable opportunity to Indian youth for international placements as safety professionals
